Answers to the most common questions about Bessanora.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes! Bessanora installs as a native Shopify theme extension, which means it’s compatible with all Shopify themes — both free and paid. The widget automatically inherits your theme’s typography, colors, and styling.
What happens when credits run out?
When your AI credits are used up for the month, AI message generation is paused. However, template-based messages continue to work normally. You can upgrade your plan at any time to get more credits immediately, or wait for your credits to reset at the start of the next billing cycle.
Can customers edit AI-generated messages?
Yes! After the AI generates a message, customers can freely edit the text before adding it to their cart. The generated message is a starting point — customers always have full control over the final message.
How fast is message generation?
AI messages are typically generated in under 2 seconds. Template-based messages are served instantly since they don’t require an API call.
Is the widget mobile-friendly?
Absolutely. The Bessanora widget is fully responsive and works beautifully on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops. It adapts to your theme’s responsive behavior automatically.
Can I use my own AI provider?
Currently, Bessanora uses Anthropic’s Claude for AI message generation. We chose Claude for its ability to write natural, warm, and contextually appropriate messages. Custom AI provider support is not available at this time.
How do I uninstall?
To uninstall Bessanora:
- Go to Settings → Apps and sales channels in your Shopify admin
- Find Bessanora in the list
- Click Remove app
Your sessions are deleted immediately upon uninstall. All remaining data is hard-deleted within 48 hours via Shopify’s data removal process.
Where do gift messages appear in orders?
Gift messages are stored as line item properties on the Shopify order. You’ll see them in:
- Order details in your Shopify admin
- Order confirmation emails (if your email template includes line item properties)
- Packing slips (if configured to show line item properties)
The message includes the “From” name, “To” name, and the gift message text.
Do you store customer data?
No. Bessanora does not store customer names, emails, addresses, or payment information. The “From” and “To” names entered by customers are stored as Shopify line item properties, not in our database. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
